The Tomatis Method Training Course
The Tomatis® training courses are given by experienced trainers. Training can take place either in face-to-face sessions (in some countries) or online in order to allow the greatest number of patients, clients and students to access the Method. We strive to provide a thorough and objective teaching as well as continuously integrate new scientific progress. The training curriculum combines theory and practice and is comprised of four levels. Each level allows you to put your knowledge into practice gradually at the end of each level of training.
E-learning Introduction. Preliminary optional step
Optional Preliminary Step
Purpose: - Give you an in-depth overview of the Tomatis® Method potential.
Duration: - 3 hours training
Tool: - Internet connection
Our new e-learning course has been created as an optional first step in the process of becoming a Tomatis® Professional. It will give you an in-depth overview of the Tomatis® Method potential. You can return to the course with any level of certification.
Level 1 - Become a Tomatis® Practitioner (Level 1)
Apply the Tomatis Method®
Purpose: To practice the Tomatis® Method by integrating a powerful, yet simple-to-use, professional device into your professional activity.
Duration: 3 days on site or equivalent online
Pre-requirement: must be an educator, therapist or clinician
Tool: The portable TalksUp® device (level 1)
This intensive 3-day training course focuses on the theoretical and practical aspects of the Tomatis® Method. What you will learn during this training:
- The study of the vital aspects of the ear and its interactions with the brain.
- The understanding of how the Tomatis® Method can improve the motor, emotional and cognitive functions of children and adults.
- The knowledge on how to implement the Tomatis® Method within your business with the use of the TalksUp device
- Finally, the introduction to the Tomatis® Evaluation Database (TED), an on-line psycho-educational testing platform to assess your clients' progress.
With training at level 1, you are able to use the TalksUp® device to practice the Tomatis® Method in your area of expertise and with your clients. You can monitor their progress with the TED. This first level gives you the title of “Practitioner Tomatis® (level 1)”. In order to help you in your daily practice, you get personalized assistance, online mentoring courses and continuous training to fully support you.
Level 2 - Become a Tomatis® Practitioner (Level 2)
Add an assessment tool
Purpose: To master an evaluation tool that allows you to precisely define the listening profile of a client
Duration: 4 days + online support and mentoring, or equivalent online
Pre-requirement: must be a Tomatis® Practitioner (level 1)
Tool: The TLT device for the listening test and TalksUp® (level 2)
This intensive 4-day course focuses on the Tomatis® Listening Test (TLT) and its use. What you will learn during this training:
- Deep knowledge about the audio-vocal loop
- How to conduct a TLT listening test and how to interpret it to measure your clients' progress
- How to adapt the listening programs of your clients according to their listening profile
With training at level 2, you will become completely familiar with the use of the TLT device. You will learn to do your own programing, to customize a listening program and to monitor the progress of your clients. After completing this second level, you will be certified as a “Practitioner Tomatis (level 2)”. In order to help you in your daily practice, you will continue to get personalized assistance, online mentoring courses and on-going training.
The TLT is an educational tool and is not intended to be a diagnosis.
Level 3 - Become a Tomatis® Consultant (Level 3)
Create customized programs and integrate individualized active listening sessions
Purpose: 1. Learn how to design your own listening programs. 2. Add active sessions (How to work on the voice) and how to adjust the client's laterality
Duration: 4 days + online support and mentoring
Pre-requirement: You must be a Tomatis® Practitioner (Level 2)
Tool: TalksUp® (level 3)
This intensive 4-day course enables you to acquire an in-depth knowledge in the implementation of the Tomatis® Method and more specifically on the creation of your client’s customized programs. What you will learn during this training:
- Broader knowledge in the analysis of you clients listening test
- How to use and customize new parameters in order to improve results with your clients
- Participation in some of our research programs
- Integrate active sessions (voice work) and adjust client's laterality
With level 3 training, you will learn advanced techniques in using the Tomatis® Method to create your own listening programs. As with previous levels, this specialized training combines theoretical and practical aspects. After completing level 3, you will be able to offer your clients individualized active listening sessions and to adjust their laterality. You will receive certification as “Tomatis® Consultant” or “Tomatis® level 3 professional”. As before, in order to help you in your daily practice, you will continue to get personalized assistance, online mentoring courses and on-going training.
Level 4 - Become a Tomatis® Consultant (Level 4)
Access to advanced programming
Purpose: Full access to advanced parameters of TalksUp® + learn to work with Mother Voice
Duration: 4 days + online support and mentoring
Pre-requirement: Must be a Tomatis® Consultant (level 3)
Tool: The TalksUp® (level 4)
This intensive 4-day course is offered to all the Tomatis® Consultants at Level 3 who want to master the implementation of the Tomatis® Method What you will learn during this training:
- Mastered understanding of the Tomatis® Method.
- Mastery on how to use all the settings in the programming of the Tomatis® Method and how to adjust them as closely as possible to your client’s listening profile.
- Mastery in entering your own recordings as well as including the mother’s voice in the programing.
With training at level 4, you have mastered the use of the Tomatis® Method in all its aspects. As with previous levels, this specialized training combines theoretical and practical aspects. This Fourth level gives you the highest level of expertise and the title of “Qualified Tomatis® Consultant” or “Tomatis® level 4 professional”. In order to help you in your daily practice, you get personalized assistance, online mentoring courses and advanced training to fully support you. You are also an active contributor in our research programs.
